⭐️My horse is struggling to jump⭐️

Case study information:


🐴Horse: Cob

🐴Age: 12 years old

🐴Work level: Medium work. 4-5 days per week. Hacking, schooling and light jumping.


🤷‍♀️𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 ?


👉 Rider noticed that the horse is lacking power into the jumps

👉 The trainer has noted that the canter right is weaker than the left

👉 Behaviour changes when tacking up.

👉 Started touching poles behind


🙋‍♀️𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵?


🙌 After listening to the owner

✅ Full history was taken

👀Observation of the horse in the stable,

🐴 Assessment of all three paces,

🙏 Full body palpation looking for areas of heat, tension and patterns of compensation,


I was drawn to a 𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙡𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙧 - 𝙥𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙞𝙘 𝙙𝙮𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣





👆The pictures above show 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩, roughly 45mins apart. A full body treatment was performed with tailored exercises given to help support and body immediately after treatment.


👆Further communication with the vet and farrier was carried out to ensure that the gelding had optimum support behind.


❤️Remember that the 𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 is always trying to 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡.
